Globally, 2022 was a challenging year for everyone. As a company, we took the opportunity to question ourselves, our products and our service. How does Locinox look back, while preparing for both short-term and long-term future? Here’s a word from our new CEO, Bram Dieryckx. “The ambition of Locinox has always been to focus on what we know best and to do this relentlessly. We try to truly understand the needs of our customers and thus find innovative solutions to their needs. Our challenge is to create a range of client optimized products that we ship within 24 hours, that have premium quality and are easy to install. Our clients are our partners, which is why we work side-by-side to develop solutions to match their specific needs. This is how we came to the Uniwing concept, which is based on a modular range. A wide range of products that fit in a standard hole pattern, offer installers flexibility and ease of installation, while it allows gate manufacturers to fully standardize 1 type of wing that can be used in very different set-ups. Our innovation-seeking engineering team strives to consistently improve our products and optimize installation flexibility and performance. If our foundational LAKQ lock has become your market standard, it’s because Locinox has always stood for quality. We will continue to test our products to the extreme, so we can promise to uphold the same standard. MOMENTUM “Despite world economy taking a hit in 2022 and the uncertainty of what 2023 might bring, I am confident that we can maintain the momentum of our significant growth in 2021. We will continue to invest in new products and solutions, but also in our already strong and competent teams, from R&D through sales and customer service to logistics. To make sure our partners benefit from our innovative mindset, we plan on improving and expanding our basic portfolio. As the outdoor market evolves towards automation, we now also develop electrical and motorized products. The market reacted enthusiastic about the Fail Open version of our motorized drop bolt, Electradrop and the Valentino, a battery powered code lock. We look forward to launching our first motorized gate closer, the Venus, in 2023. We will continue to invest in developing digital access control and motorized gate accessories for our core markets. Moving into our brand-new Smart Factory of the Future next year will mark a major milestone for Locinox. Our new headquarters will enable us to further expand our service. On top of additional steps in warehouse automation and capacity, a state-of-the-art design center to attract talent and a brand-new experience center to engage with our partners, we are making a great leap forward in sustainability in every form. This Innovation Journal reveals a sneak peek of our innovation pipeline, with some completely new and advanced ideas and there is still much more to come.” WORD FROM OUR CEO SMART FACTORY OF THE FUTURE 2022 was the year in which our Smart Factory of the Future started taking shape. With a planned 40.000 m² operating surface, we will be tripling our current capacity, which is necessary to fulfill our promises to our clients. An important part of this area will be our large warehouse, which will have more than 18.000 pallet spaces. There will also be a fully automated mini load warehouse with 80.000 bins to supply our packaging line and 5 cranes to move the products. This will ensure that we can deliver over 2.000 products within 24 hours. To guarantee the success of the automated picking, an extremely level flooring is required in the warehouse. If there is more than 2 mm difference on a surface of 60 m x 100 m, the cranes will not be able to place pallets at 14 m height. The building will be heated and cooled by sustainable renewable energy. Therefore 132 geometric drillings were done up to 58m deep. The continuous cycle that will be created, ensures that the water in the system cools down by the end of winter and heats up again by the end of summer. This will allow our new building to be cooled without a heat pump in the summer and heated by a ground source heat pump in the winter. All Locinox employees (in the factory and in the offices) will thus be able to work in the same pleasant temperature throughout the year. While our contractors are continuously working hard on building our innovation hub this year, we already look forward to welcoming you to our new location in 2024.
