mardi 19 octobre 2021
During a livestreamed award ceremony in Brussel, Locinox received the honour of winning the 20th anniversary edition of the prestigious Export Lion. The Flemish government agency Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT) was swayed by an innovative mindset in a niche with a fairly traditional reputation.
On Wednesday 29 September Locinox CEO Mik Emmerechts was handed with the Lion Export Award, celebrating Flemish companies with an impressive export track record. Flanders Investment & Trade’s 20th anniversary edition welcomed representatives of 6 nominees in two categories and shared the experience with viewers at home via livestream. At the end of the award show, Locinox was lucky enough to outmatch runners up Camco Technologies and OTN Systems in the category ‘Companies with 50 or more employees. Both fellow nominees proved well-deserved nominees and fierce competition.
Team effort
“We will proudly continue our efforts as ambassadors for Flemish export”, states Mik Emmerechts. “More than anything else, this award is an acknowledgement of both the team efforts and the efforts of every individual. This award emphasizes the hard work and motivates us to keep striving.”
Since its foundation in the late 1980s Locinox grew from a local family business into a European market leader. The lion’s share of turnover comes from exports, mainly to Belgium’s neighbouring countries, as well as Poland and the United States. As pioneers in gate hardware, Locinox invests highly in innovation. At least 50% of its yearly growth comes from products developed in the previous 3 years.
As stated on FIT’s website: It was mainly this innovative mindset in a niche with a fairly traditional reputation that swayed the final jury. From its technologically advanced product range to all underlying business processes and the circularity of components, this family business has the courage and ambition to think outside the box across the board.
Exceptional 2021
This award completes an exceptional 2021 for the developer of access control products. This summer Deloitte Private awarded Locinox with its Best Managed Companies label, denoting quality and excellence. Beginning of September, Locinox laid the first stone of a brand new factory, a stone’s throw away from its current location. Locinox 4.0 will become a Smart Factory of the Future allowing the company to confirm and strengthen its position as a European market leader. With the Lion Export Award to top the year off, Locinox has raised its own bar and ambitions.
